This pathway is classified as Advanced and is shown here because you opened it directly. Your study inputs are unaffected.
BSA — m²

Integrated, stepwise grading of AS severity (incl. discordant AVA and gradient)

Advanced
Version 2026.10.1

Steps from morphology and gradient through AVA, measurement review, flow status and EF to the low-flow, low-gradient subgroups. Discordance is resolved by sequence, not by majority vote.

Quick reference:↑ Aortic stenosis
Applicability
  • Native aortic valve stenosis. Prosthetic valves follow the prosthetic-valve document.
  • Blood pressure should be recorded; evaluate ideally when BP is normal, since hypertension alters velocity and gradient.
  1. Step 0 — morphology
Does 2D imaging show stenotic aortic valve disease (calcific thickening with reduced motion, doming, or commissural fusion)?
Stenotic morphology on 2D — Thickened calcified cusps with reduced motion, doming congenital valve, or fused rheumatic commissures
    Valve morphology not recorded.
